Updates From Mighty Oaks Warrior Programs

October has been a month of ministry from coast to coast! From our first East Coast Fight Club program and Gala held in Virginia to our annual Gala in Texas our team has traveled, ministered and represented Mighty Oaks to donors and supporters in three states.  It is always amazing to step back after a month like this to get some perspective on the great things in which God allows us to participate.

Here are some of the highlights:

The month started with a wonderful fundraising event sponsored by Allied Wealth in Houston Texas.  Ryan Wheless, the president of Allied, has become a key supporter in the mission of ministering to those that come through our program.  For the last two years he has sponsored these events that allow Chad Robichaux to share the vision of Mighty Oaks while providing opportunity for his clients to support what we are doing.  Lives have been changed because of his investment.

As the Allied Wealth event was concluding, our team was starting the very first Fight Club for Men on the East Coast.  This event was held at the Bull Run Warrior Retreat Center in cooperation with The Life Church in Manassas Virginia.  This was an opportunity for us to expand our reach to the East Coast while ministering in an entirely new region while developing leadership that can continue to influence those in the Northern Virginia area.  This week would not have been possible without the support of the wonderful volunteers from The Life Church and from Serve Our Willing Warriors.  This was a great week and we look forward to many more Fight Club Programs at the Bull Run Warrior Retreat Center.

Following our Men’s Fight Club, the Mighty Oaks Foundation held it’s first East Coast Gala at The Life Church in Manassas.  This was a night where the ministry of Mighty Oaks was shared, awards to those that have engaged in the mission of Mighty Oaks were given, and a challenge from our guest speaker, Lt. General Jerry Boykin was heard.  The night was even more special as we incorporated the graduation for Fight Club in the program of the evening. What an amazing time with wonderful supporters of The Life Church!

Our team left Virginia and flew to Houston Texas to prepare for our fifth Annual Gala held in the Woodlands, Texas as well as to spend a few days preparing for 2016.  This was a valuable time as our team was able to evaluate the past and look toward the future discussing the best ways to continue accomplishing our mission of bringing healing to those without hope.

Our time in Texas ended with our fifth Annual Gala.  Once again Lt. General Jerry Boykin was our Keynote Speaker and once again he challenged all in attendance to do more to minister to our nations warriors.  Additionally, the night was hosted by David Barton who not only emceed the event, but also shared with us the Christian foundations of our nation’s military.  The historical perspective added an element to the evening that helped us all understand why we must be involved. Awards were given here as well to honor those who have gone above and beyond to serve our nations warriors.  This is a night that will not soon be forgotten.

It is always humbling to be a part of the amazing work that God is doing through Mighty Oaks, but it is months like this one that remind us of just how amazing He is and how privileged we are to be a part of His work!
