National Day of Prayer

On May 5, 2016, TUMI students from a California State Prison will be included in the National Day of Prayer event held at Christ Community Church in El Centro, CA. This is an often forgotten group of men and women who love our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

This opportunity is provided by the National Day of Prayer committee in cooperation with Serving California who funds 37 college seminary programs in 19 California prisons. The TUMI program is a 3 ½ year seminary education created by World Impact Ministries, and Serving California has implemented this program in California prisons.

The inmate students will be video taped speaking about one of the many areas of prayer covered by the National Day of Prayer, and will also lead a specific prayer for the areas assigned. This video taped message and prayer will be aired at the National Day of Prayer event on May 5th, 2016, and the community of Imperial County will join the inmates/students as they pray, creating a completed church from the “inside” to the outside.

Last year was the first time this was ever considered and conducted, and the Imperial County community resoundingly requested that the men on the inside once again join them as a church to pray for our nation.

Serving California will create video for submission and approval prior to the event, and it is our prayer that this video will be aired in California State Prisons everywhere.
